Calling All Artists

The wall across from the church office has been reserved for rotating monthly exhibits of two dimensional art. This new exhibition program will provide an opportunity display 2-dimensional art that reflects a spiritual journey or work of a reflective nature that relates to the overall mission of the church. This venue is open to church members and artists in the community at large.

A committee was recently constituted to develop guidelines for artists, review submissions and coordinate exhibits beginning this coming church year. The committee is currently looking for artists willing to show their work in this space beginning early in September. Artists from UCCH will be given preference, but artists outside the congregation will be welcome to submit exhibit ideas as well.

Interested artists should mail or deliver a CD with 10 jpeg images and a brief description of the work to the exhibits director, Cindy Waszak Geary. Each image should be labeled with size, title and medium and be 72 dpi.   Please email Cindy at cwaszak@mindspring.com if you have questions or would like more information.

Join UCCH and The Interfaith Power and Light "Climate Convert"
The disastrous oil spill in the Gulf of Mexico on top of the Massey Energy mining disaster is West Virginia are vivid examples of how Creation is groaning under the burden of our unsustainable dependence on fossil fuels.  Join with other people of faith and become a "Climate Convert" by visiting the Interfaith Power and Light website at here.

Sign the letter to President Obama on line, and pick up your Climate Convert pin in the Narthex between the early and late services the next couple Sundays.

We want as many people as possible to wear their pins on the weekend of August 6-8 to show solidarity in our call for strong and effective climate legislation which will wean us off of fossil fuels and move us rapidly toward a clean energy economy.  Kathy Shea will be in the Narthex on Sunday mornings at 10 am handing out pins and more information.
