Our Crafts Group will meet this Friday evening, May 9 at 7 pm downstairs in the new youth lounge. Bring your unfinished crafts project, have a snack, and join us for fun and fellowship. Were you thinking about going to the all church beach retreat, but missed the deadline?
Do you want to spend Memorial Day Weekend on the beach with friends from United Church?
Did you think it was too late to sign up?
If so, good news! We've had some cancellations and have two rooms available for the beach weekend. If you are interested in joining us on this weekend retreat getaway, May 23 - 26, please contact Rinnie in the church office at ucch@unitedchurch.org. Join us at the beach!
Project 5000 comes to a close this Sunday.
Boxes are due back on May 11 to turn the loaves and fishes into food for 5,000.
If you haven't yet filled a box, t's not too late to help! Pick up a food box at United Church and instruction sheet this week - and bring the filled box on Sunday to the church. Thank you!
Three year olds: 32 oz plastic jars of peanut butter; 18 oz plastic jar of jelly
Four year olds: 11.5 oz can of concentrated juice or four 5.5 oz. cans of single strength juice
Kindergarteners: 18 oz. box of hot cereal; 9.6 oz. package of powdered milk
First Graders: 8 oz. box of muffin or biscuit mix (add water only type)
Second Graders: 2 lb. bag white or brown rice; 15 oz. cans of black beans
Third Graders: 7.25 oz. box of macaroni and cheese; 15 oz. cans of pasta (such as Chef Boy-Ar-Dee Ravioli)
Fourth Graders: 15 oz cans of fruit; 14.5 oz cans of vegetables (but no green beans or peas -- the IFC pantry has enough)
Fifth Graders: 12-24 oz. cans of meat, any variety
We'll put the boxes with the children together this Sunday.
8:45 & 11 am Worship
This year's Confirmation Class will lead worship. At the 8:45 am service we will have reflections from: Kyle Jordan, Hannah Reynolds, Will Holub-Moorman, and Erin Casey; at 11:00 am: Alice Harris, Rebecca Leloudis, Joseph Maffly-Kipp, and Mark Flournoy.
Music this Sunday will be provided by the Children's Choir, along with members of the Chancel Choir and the Handbell Choir.

We will have a celebration of the end of the year on Sunday, May 18, at 10 am, with a short service in the sanctuary--including recognition of the 5th Graders, as they move on to Middle School--followed by our traditional ice cream party in Fellowship Hall. We encourage parents to attend this celebration along with their children.
