Pastoral Care Staff
In 1999, the Board of Deacons together with the pastors restructured pastoral care at United Church. The question asked by the Deacons was, “How do we help members of the parish become ‘good neighbors’ to one another -- doing things that neighbors once did when neighborhoods were viable communities? How do we organize a neighborhood within the parish since our members for the most part do not relate to their neighborhoods but live their lives commuting to everything they do?” Together with the pastors, the Deacons organized a pastoral care team comprised of the ministers, parish nurse, and interested Deacons.
