Meals

On some occasions, volunteers will coordinate meals for an individual or a family where there is illness or where there has been a death.  In these cases, all caregivers who have indicated that they are willing to prepare or coordinate meals will be contacted via phone or email.

If you decide to coordinate getting meals to those in need, talk to Jill Edens and the family to determine what is needed and when and how it would be convenient to deliver it.  Its also important to note any dietary restrictions and strong likes and dislikes.

Many family members who are well will be appreciative of almost anything you are able to deliver; not having to bother with preparing or purchasing meals will be helpful enough to them.  Preparing meals for sick people may be a little tricky, however.  Visit the "hints" page to find out more about cooking for the sick.

If you wish to cook meals, you will be given instructions on how to contact the coordinator.  The coordinator will know what you will need to prepare, how much to prepare, and when to deliver it to the church.  The coordinator will usually take care of delivering food to the family.
