Hints for Notewriting

Notes and cards are one way that the church family can communicate with people in the congregation.  In times of joy and sorry the physical presence of a note is an important symbol of care and concern.  Notes need not be long or especially eloquent.

Notes should be written on the behalf of the church family.  Writing notes in this way allows you to communicate not only your concern, but that of the entire community.  This also makes it possible to write a warm and caring note to someone that you may not know well.

Volunteers will receive information about the need for notes via email.

You will receive a list of pastoral concerns early in the week, usually Monday.  If there are concerns that emerge during the week, you may receive an additional email.

If you are able and willing to write some or all of the notes, please reply so that we can insure that every person receives at least one note.

You may use the note cards provided by the church (check in the office) or you may choose your own.

If you agree to write a note, please do so by the end of the week or notify us that you were unable to do so.

Writing notes can be a tough job.  Sometimes you will find it more difficult than others.  There are no hard and fast rules to guide you.  The most important thing to do is to communicate your care and concern for the person/family on the behalf of the church community.
