Welcome to the United Church of Chapel Hill
Blessed to be a Blessing ... for a hundred years!
United Church of Chapel Hill has been blessed since our beginnings in 1910.
We’ve been blessed with an active, restless congregation that has been at the vanguard of local and international outreach programs, led us to become an Open and Affirming church and has most recently inspired the national United Church of Christ to adopt the Economic Justice Covenant resolution authored by our own members.
Our members continue to show us many ways to live out our beliefs and be a blessing to others, such as starting a Sustainable Household program that encourages us to live in simple and environmentally sensitive ways ... protesting in support of better work environments and wages for low-paid workers ... serving the hungry at the IFC shelter ... building homes for the homeless in partnership with Habitat for Humanity ... embracing the Karen refugees ... showing care and support for prisoners in the Orange County Correctional facility ... and caring for ourselves with an especially supportive Pastoral Care group.
And the list of our blessings goes on endlessly and joyously.
We invite you to join us serving God in ways so that we will to be both blessed and lifted up as a blessing to others. Young and old, married, partnered, single, serious and funny, we are all transformed in the living, dancing, singing, serving body of Christ.
